There was an accident involving five cars between Capt. Whalen Drive/Hogan Street and Blackmarsh Road Tuesday morning. Two people were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. There was a considerable traffic back-up as the northbound lane was down to one lane only.

You know what happens when you try to maintain a "safe distance"? Some other jack-a** cut's right in front to take the nice convenient space you've left them and you're getting tale gated at the same time. Get of your high horse people and stop crapping on those that were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Poo happens.

Drivers here have forgotten that their vehicle is a weapon. It can kill or seriously injure someone if used with neglect. People need to slow down. When we're on the tch, going 100km/hr you'd swear we were going 20! And if there's heavy rain with low visibility we are being passed as if it's a dry, sunny day! It is absolutely frightening the disregard many people have for others when they're driving. It's all about them. Many times driving from St. John's to Clarenville, vice versa, we do not see any RCMP. There needs to be more patrolling on our highways and certainly more RNC in metro. Too many accidents due to drivers who simply don't abide by the rules. People should have to do a new driving test every ten years. Elderly have to do new tests... I'm not afraid of them, I'm afraid of everyone else and their rigorous attitude towards driving. Be safe. It's everyone around you driving that you have to worry about.

Not the case here, but saw six people go through red lights yesterday. One of them was a metrobus driver & two were in the lane next to me, but behind me, I stopped safely, they kept going. Saw two illegal left hand turns and one coming onto a road from a street that was do not enter. This is only what I remember, but it was in the span of two 30 minute drives. Drivers are doing what they like, speeding, texting, talking on phones and a general disregard for the laws of the road. It is time for more patrols in unmarked cars and stiffer fines! I do that nobody was seriously hurt in this accident.

TEXTING, TAILGATEING, TALKING ON CELL PHONE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM IN THIS CITY. I THINK THAT THE RNC SHOULD BE OUT ON PATROL MORE INSTEAD OF SPENDING THEIR MORNINGS AT TIMMIES!!!!

TAILGATING.. TEXTING, TALKING ON CELL PHONES It is wicked around the city .. people have become careless about their driving and everyone is at risk ...

Where are the cops? You could be giving out tickets with your eyes closed here these days.

who knows there maybe texting involved as well as tailgaiting

I hope their insurance goes through the roof for tailgating! People need to use common sense.

Who would've ever thought that tailgating and speeding in wet conditions would cause an accident.

People are speeding, tailgating, hell I think most people have forgotten how to drive lately. Every morning it's been the same thing for weeks! Another slowdown on one major artery in or out of the city, because of ANOTHER accident.... Petitor
