Sources say Justin Trudeau to announce run for Liberal leadership: La Presse

OTTAWA — Several sources have told Montreal’s La Presse that Liberal MP Justin Trudeau plans to run for the leadership of the federal party.

The 40-year-old member for Papineau is expected to make the announcement on Tuesday.

The paper says several Liberal sources confirmed Trudeau will hold a news conference in his constituency on Tuesday.

At that time, Trudeau is expected to confirm that he’ll be attempting to follow in the footsteps of his father, former prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

The next Liberal leader will be elected April 14, 2013, in Ottawa.

Young Mr. Trudeau's bid for the Liberal leadership should be a shoo-in and may be the very thing the party needs to oust Adolph Harper in the next Federal Election! Wether or not another Prime Minister Trudeau would be good for Canada ... well that's another question entirely ...
