GoBus para-transit drivers join CUPE

Employees of MVT Canadian Bus have voted to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), it was announced today in a news release.

The company provides para-transit or GoBus services to clients in St. John’s, and has a contract with the City of St. John’s.

CUPE national representative Ed White says the 32 drivers and one utility worker with the company will become part of CUPE Local 5120.

CUPE also represents municipal outside and inside workers with the City of St. John’s, locals 569 and 1289, as well as Mile One  Centre employees, Local 569-01.
