Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers responded to a call of unknown trouble in the Old Petty Harbour Road area last night.
Upon arrival, they encountered an assault in progress.Officers diffused the situation and charged three people.
An 18-year-old male charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of a court order. He was held in custody.A 19-year-old man was charged with assault causing bodily harm. He was released to attend court at a later date.Another 19-year-old male was charged with obstruction. He was released to attend court at a later date.
Meanwhile, the RNC says a 26-year-old man advised officers early this morning there was a warrant out for his arrest — and that he wanted to turn himself in.
He was arrested and held for court.
Notes the RNC's overnight report: "The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary would be more than happy to help any other persons who wish to turn themselves in for outstanding warrants of arrest and encourage persons to do so."
