The Telegram website offers only a sample of the stories our reporters, editors and photographers work hard to get to the public every day.

Friday’s print edition of The Telegram, on the other hand, contains much, much more, from news to opinion to our expanded A&E section.

• Opposition politicians are sending a clear message to Premier Kathy Dunderdale: if you won’t talk to us, we’re going to make life awkward for you. And what they want to talk about is Muskrat Falls. With debate in the House looming, it’s clear all three parties have clear ideas of how they want the debate to go.

• The Angels of C.B.N. have left their mark in just a few years. The Bay Roberts based group started raising money for breast cancer in 2009, figuring they’d be lucky to raise $5,000 that first year. But to date they have raised $100,000 for breast cancer patients.

• When it comes to workers’ compensation insurance premiums, Newfoundland and Labrador is top of the list — and that’s a bad thing according a Toronto-based economist and the Newfoundland and Labrador Employers’ Council (NLEC).

“Newfoundland has the dubious distinction of having had the highest workers’ compensation payroll tax rate compared to all other jurisdictions since 1993, with the exception of the years 2007-2010 when it was slightly eclipsed by the Yukon and Northwest Territories,” Morley Gunderson wrote in a report commissioned by the council.
