Crews working on repairing the water main break on Harbour Drive in St. John’s are still on the scene and are expected to be there until at least 6 p.m., according to a spokeswoman for the city.
It is still not known what happened, only that millions of litres of water started spewing from the area this morning. Crews have been working on the break all day.

The water main break on Harbour Drive in St. John’s has left the TD Building without water.
Mary Tucker, communications for Fortis Properties, said they have a water truck outside for its tenants and as far as she knows its businesses in the TD Building have remained open.
City work crews are on the scene on Harbour Drive, at Prescott Street, and have been there since early this morning when the water main break was discovered.
Paul Mackey, director of public works with the city, said the break occurred about 2:30 a.m.
The Fortis Properties parking garage has been flooded, but Mackey said he has not heard of any businesses experiencing flooding at this point.
Tucker said the building has water but the elevators are not working.

City work crews are on the scene of a large watermain break on Harbour Drive, at Prescott Street, in downtown St. John’s this morning.
Paul Mackey, Director of Public Works with the city, said the break occurred about 2:30 a.m. and crews have been on the scene trying to determine the source of the leak and make repairs.
