The Brain Injury Association of Canada has awarded St. John’s law firm Ches Crosbie Barristers a brain injury prevention award.

This summer, the personal injury firm organized a free helmet program which gave away more than 1,000 helmets to deserving kids across the province. The goal was to promote bicycle safety among young people and help families in need.

Ches Crosbie was recently invited to the National Arts Centre in Ottawa to accept the award.

As part of the program, Ches Crosbie Barristers also offered to give away a new bike to a child in need. In partnership with Canary Cycles, the firm ended up giving away new bikes with helmets to six kids.

Jeannette Holman-Price of the Jessica Campaign and Wanda Cuff-Young helped organize the program.

It's always nice to read a story like this, people helping people. Thank you Mr. Crosbie for thinking about our future generation and giving those who could not afford it, proper protection when riding a bike. Kudo's to you!
