Police in the Marystown area are looking for help from the public in two cases, launched in the pre-dawn hours this morning.

The RCMP is investigating an apparent break-in at the Town of St. Lawrence filtration building. Police were called to the building at 1:30 a.m.

“A Scotia Bank ATM is located at that building and someone had attempted to break into the ATM causing considerable damage,” police have stated.

Police have stated they believe the damage was caused around 12:50 a.m.

The Marystown RCMP are also investigating a separate incident.

In this case, police were called to Wiscombe's Insurance on Ville Marie Drive in Marystown at about 3:30 a.m.

“Someone had broken the glass out of the back door and entered the building,” police have stated.

The RCMP believe the person or persons who caused the damage left after realizing they tripped an alarm.

Anyone with information that might help close either of these cases is being asked by police to contact them at 279-3001 or through Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
