Just as the Special Olympics community is being left out of the Order of Canada, I guess Kathy Dunderdale has now caught the Stephen Harper bug in not recognizing Special Olympians for the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador honour. For example, on September 19, 2012, Olympians and Paralympians were publicly honoured in Ottawa for their performance at the recent Olympic Games and Paralympics in London, but Special Olympians like Michael Harris and I whom made this country proud at last year's Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, Greece were not invited. We were not even invited to participate in the Olympic Heroes Parade in Toronto as well. Like Stephen Harper, Kathy Dunderdale is showing some prejudices towards Special Olympians, not just the athletes, but also our hard working coaches and volunteers. Maybe I should write a letter to Premier Dunderdale to address these concerns.
