Memorial University will hold its fall convocation ceremonies Friday in Corner Brook, and on Oct. 19 in St. John’s.
More than 1,000 students will receive their degrees during the four sessions of convocation.
The Grenfell Campus session in Corner Brook will take place at the Arts and Culture Centre at 10 a.m. In St. John’s, sessions begin at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Arts and Culture Centre.
During two of the convocation sessions in St. John’s, honorary doctorate degrees will be awarded — at the 10 a.m. session to philanthropist Chandrasekhar Sankurathri, and at the 3 p.m. session to engineer and scholar Raymond David Findlay.
At the 7:30 p.m. session of convocation on Oct. 19, sociologist Marilyn Porter will be honoured as professor emerita.
