A Cougar helicopter that was on its way to the Seven Eagle diving vessel at sea abruptly turned around and returned to base sometime on Sunday.

According to the C-NLOPB, the chopper was turned around because of a disruption in Cougar's own search and rescue (SAR) service.

SAR service was restored within 60 minutes and the transport flight returned to its route.

No further details were provided.
