The Telegram website offers only a sample of the stories our reporters, editors and photographers work hard to get to the public every day.

Tuesday’s print edition of The Telegram, on the other hand, contains much, much more, from news to opinion to our expanded Family section.

• The billions of dollars in industrial work on tap for the province will require thousands of people working in new jobs, from skilled trades to office management. The need comes at a time when the province — with an average worker age of 44 — is seeing the labour pool shrinking through baby boomer retirements.

• Premier Kathy Dunderdale brought her government’s Muskrat Falls road show to hundreds of municipal leaders in Gander Saturday.

As a guest speaker at the closing banquet of the annual general meeting of Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador, the premier didn’t waste much time touting the accomplishments of the PC party in this province, and municipalities, before diving head-first into a full-on sales pitch for the proposed hydroelectric project.

“And now you know I was going to get there somewhere in this speech,” she said. “Solid leadership, clear vision and sound planning are what brings me to the subject of Muskrat Falls. On every level, Muskrat Falls is the right way forward for Newfoundland and Labrador.”

• Keith McCambridge will get his St. John’s IceCaps through the American Hockey League’s opening weekend before deciding whether to give his roster a further trim.

As it stands, the IceCaps will open the 2012-13 AHL season with 30 players, after McCambridge cut six Monday morning.
