Police in Labrador are looking for the owners of a canoe found overturned Tuesday evening.

According to a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary news release, the canoe was discovered in an area between Duley Lake and Canning Lake. Its sighting was reported to police at approximately 6 p.m.

Police said information has been received indicating a local resident may have lost the canoe a few days earlier while attempting to launch it. Police added there have been no recent reports of missing persons filed in the area.

The RNC is asking for the public’s help to confirm the canoe was lost. Anyone with information can contact the RNC at 709-944-7602 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
