Man found guilty of charges resulting from drunken rampage

Anthony Ernest Tilley was found guilty today in provincial court in St. John’s on charges of assault with a weapon, damage to property, resisting arrest and breaching probation.

A sentencing hearing has been set for Nov. 1.

Tilley, 31, was found not guilty on charges of break and enter with intent, and causing a disturbance.

Tilley was charged after a Dec. 30, 2011 incident in which he assaulted his girlfriend Lisa Squires and damaged her house on Jensen Camp Road in St. John's while on a drunken rampage. He also damaged a neighbour’s house and assaulted a neighbour.

    In a civilized country, he would be whipped or caned.....and the drunken rage would ooze out of him pretty quick...never to be seen again.
