RNC seeking witnesses to assault

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Major Crime Unit has arrested and charged a 16-year-old Conception Bay South male in relation to a serious physical assault on a 21-year-old man in September.

According to police, the victim was in the area of Peachy Town Road and Peachy Town Access Road in the town on Sept. 14 between 3 and 6 a.m. when the assault occurred. Two males allegedly attacked the victim and then fled on foot.

Police say the victim received serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

This afternoon, members from the RNC Major Crime Unit arrested and charged a 16-year-old C.B.S. male with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breaches of court orders. The suspect was held for a court appearance.

The RNC is continuing the investigation and are still searching for a second individual involved.
