An altercation between a group of men and women that had spilled onto Leslie Street from a nearby rooming house Thursday evening has apparently resulted in a vehicle/pedestrian accident.

A woman was hit by the car as she suddenly ran into the street during the incident, according to several witnesses and the car’s driver. The witnesses also say a man was waving a stick and screaming outside the house.

Police placed two pylons next to the object the man had apparently been waving after they arrived on the scene to investigate. Officers then questioned three males in the back of police cruisers after frisking them. The young woman could be seen in the back of an ambulance being treated for injuries that did not appear serious . Police were also searching another area nearby for a person who had run from the scene following the accident.

Traffic was diverted from the area for about an hour.

Nice area of the city. Too bad, gives it sort of a bad wrap.
