Hotel Gander will be wrapped in blue this weekend, as the provincial PC party conducts its 60th annual general meeting.

Premier Kathy Dunderdale is expected to give a speech this evening, and the party will spend the weekend debating policy issues and holding organizing sessions.

The convention comes nearly one year to the day after Dunderdale won a majority government in the Oct. 11, 2011 general election.

Since then, it’s been a tough year for the PC government, with hard battles over the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project and a divisive debate over Bill 29, regarding access-to-information legislation.

The weekend’s convention is shaping up to be a chance for Tories to gather and renew their party spirit as the government prepares for an intense fall debate and a final decision on whether to sanction the Muskrat Falls project.

The Telegram will provide full coverage of the convention online and in Monday’s paper.

When the PC's use that road to get to Gander they should then follow the road that leads to Muskrat Falls! Once there they should all test the water in the falls and see how good they are at treading in that water. I suspect their ability to survive for any period of time in that chilly Labrador river would likely be equivilent to their abilty to survive the next election..... Sorry Katherine, you and your minions are Gonzo
