An altercation between a group of men and women spilled onto Leslie Street in St. John's from a nearby rooming house Thursday night. A woman was reportedly hit by a car as she suddenly ran into the street during the incident, according to several witnesses and the car's driver. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said in a release today, two women were physically assaulted by an adult male. Fire department and ambulance personnel were on scene but medical attention was not required for the parties involved. One man was arrested and detained for assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats, and property damage.
