Bail hearing set for Wednesday
Robert King, 24, appeared in provincial court in St. John's today where he was charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon in connection with an incident in Conception Bay South on Oct. 11.
According to police, two males attacked a 21-year-old man and then fled on foot. The victim received serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
A 16-year-old male was arrested earlier and charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breaches of court orders.
King, who police were searching for since the incident, was arrested this morning without incident.
He was remanded in custody after his court appearance until a bail hearing Wednesday.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has arrested 24-year-old Robert King in relation to an assault on a 21-year-old man earlier this month.
The RNC had earlier issued an advisory that there was a warrant for King’s arrest and police were asking for public assistance to locate him.
Today, the RNC said King was arrested without incident in Conception Bay South and has been held in custody until an appearance in provincial court.
On Oct. 11, members from the RNC Major Crime Unit arrested and charged a 16-year-old Conception Bay South male with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breaches of court orders.
The incident occurred on Sept. 14 between the hours of 3 and 6 a.m. The victim was in the area of Peachy Town Road and Peachy Town Access Road in Conception Bay South when the assault took place.
According to police, two males attacked the victim and then fled on foot. The victim received serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
