The provincial Department of Transportation and Works is advising the travelling public that bridge repairs have been completed in English Harbour East.

The department said in a news release today, the 20-tonne capacity has been restored and the bridge is now open to heavy traffic, including school buses and emergency vehicles.

A weight restriction of 2.5 tonnes had been put in place on Oct. 12 to accommodate necessary repairs.

The Department of Transportation and Works has scheduled this bridge for replacement in 2013.
