The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Drug Investigation Unit has arrested and charged a 39-year-old St. John’s man after dismantling a grow operation in St. John’s.

On Wednesday, around 1:35pm, the RNC Drug Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at a residential property on Pond View Court in St. John’s and recovered a quantity of marijuana plants and paraphernalia associated with the production of marijuana.

The accused has been charged with production of substance under section 7 (1) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. He was released to appear in Provincial court at a later date.

The RNC Drug Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate this drug seizure. Anyone with information in relation to this investigation is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). People can also provide information anonymously on the N.L. Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com .

    There is no need to be busting all the grow ops some people trying to make a liveing and a bitta green never hurt no one!
