Man charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm

A 28- year-old man was charged with Impaired driving causing bodily harm and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit Thursday night in St. John’s after police responded to a collision on Kenmount Road at Ladysmith Drive around 10:20 p.m.  

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the man was released to appear in court at a later date.

Police say injuries to the other person were not life-threatening, but damage was extensive

A 25-year-old man was also charged with Impaired driving and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit after an RNC Patrol member observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on the Conception Bay South Highway in Upper Gullies.

He was released to appear in court at a later date

Meanwhile, a woman was arrested under warrant as a result of a vehicle stop on the Avalon Mall parking lot and a 30-year-old man was arrested for theft of beer from a centre city convenience store. He was also charged with a breach of a police undertaking and held in custody until a court appearance.

    Here we go again with our hokey justice system..a man is driving impaired causing bodily harm and he is released..and a man makes off with a dozen beer and he's kept in custody.
