The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) in Corner Brook Region has charged a 26-year-old man with impaired driving.

Around 2 a.m. this morning, an officer on patrol in the West Valley Road area observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner.

The vehicle was pulled over by police and as a result, the driver, a resident of Massey Drive in the town, was arrested and charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol limit exceeding the legal limit.

He was also issued a 90-day driving suspension. The accused was later released and is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Corner Brok on Jan. 8, 2013.

Corner Brook RNC, meanwhile, are continuing to investigate an early morning break and entry.

Around 6:30 a.m., an officer was patrolling the Broadway area when he found A.J.’s, formerly Dooley’s Bar and Billiards, broken into.

As of 9 a.m., police were still on the site, investigating the incident.

The RNC is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the RNC at 637-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). People can also provide information anonymously on the N.L. Crime Stoppers Website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com
