Eastern Health is advising the public that there will be an unscheduled power outage from about 2 to 3:30 p.m. today at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville.
During this outage, the hospital will be offering essential services only. All blood collection, routine appointments and routine procedures during the power outage are cancelled.
Eastern Health said in a news release it’s in the process of notifying patients who have appointments.
In the event of an emergency, patients should still go to the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital for care.
Eastern Health said the power outage is necessary in order to repair malfunctioning equipment. It apologizes for any inconvenience the temporary disruption may cause.
