Sorry but it's too late you've had your chance to prove your worth. Politicians are on the same level as tradespeople, it's difficult to find a good one these days. Just putting anyone in a position doesn't wash anymore. The customer now demands quality service for the price they pay.

The Premier of Newfoundland & Labrador Cathy Dunderdale had a provincial cabinet shuffle yesterday, Friday, October 19th. I wish our Prime Minister Harper would do the same with his Conservative Cabinet by getting rid of Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz and Intergovernmental Minister Peter Penashue

Ministers are just talking heads. Some just have a better way with words, making the BS be believed by more people. The real decision making is done by senior public service. Until those folks get replaced there will be very little change for the better. Ministers do have the power to say what topic is to be concentraited on but that is the full extent.

Darrin King abandoned fisheries for justice a profile that requires a legal background - just imagine. I guess in served his time in fisheries maintaining the government's position of doing nothing to address the real problems in rural NL. It is now all too apparent that there is no leadership or vision to change the fishery and improve the lot of rural people. The strategy is clear - find work in Alberta but make sure you send home your cheque.

Blunderdale / Dumberdale or just simply stupid is our so called Premier. She is not intelligent enough to represent those in her riding let alone the whole province. Why hasn't Steve Kent been shunned again by her. He has proven himself to be an excellent leader for his riding and the City of Mt. Pearl for many years, has won all of his elections by one of , if not the largest, of majorities, has national business and volunteer experience and exposure and more common sense than most of those who suck up to Dunderdale. Maybe his ideas and opinions scare her and she is afraid that Steve may show her up should he become a Minister (very true). I have been a PC all my life but this election I and my entire family of 23 votes will be voting NDP just to get rid of her. Steve Kent should consider doing likewise and don't worry about going from one party to another as you will have lots of support. Go back in the closet Dunderdale your time is up.

Not to worry Whaddaya At, you wont see Kent in any Tory Cabinet. Williams wouldn't even be seen in a photograph with him (Only the ones where Kent ran to stand behind him). I remember when Kent posted a photo one time titled "Kent attends Winter Carnival Ceremonies with Premier": you had to look long and hard at the photo to find Kent, he was in the last seat in the back row. Once Dean MacDonald takes over as Liberal leader Kent will try and bolt it back to the red team.

Given the Premier's own words that these are times of restraint I will be looking to see if she EXPANDS the size of her cabinet. can't imagine anyone being dropped, might cause another defection. Let's see if she practices what she preaches.

You can put a thick coat of paint on a mouldy wall, it may look fresh for a while but the only real remedy is to remove the wall and replace it. One thing is for certain, this coat of paint wont last 3 years until the next scheduled election.

Disappointing all around. The only good news here is that maybe the existing backbenchers will see the handwriting on the wall and follow Tom Osbourne's lead. Maybe then, we'll have a chance for an election. Then to top it off, she adds another level to an already bloated bureaucracy. The "Office of Public Engagement" is now going to "streamline" the other useless secretariats which she's created. Give me a break!
