A St. John’s man arrested Friday for an alleged break-and-enter will remain in police custody for at least the remainder of the weekend.
Shane Michael Ryan, 32, is charged with break-and-enter, possession of instruments for use in a break-and-enter, possession of stolen goods valued at less than $5,000, and failure to comply with a probation order.
A warrant for Ryan’s arrest was issued Oct. 2 in connection with his alleged breach of a probation order issued on Aug 27. Those breaches were said to have occurred between Sept. 10 and Sept. 26.
According to court documents, Ryan’s arrest on Friday related to an alleged incident at a home on Leslie Street in St. John’s. It’s alleged Ryan had two screwdrivers in his possession for use to gain entry into the home.
He was remanded in custody after making a brief court appearance Saturday morning. Ryan is scheduled to return to St. John’s Provincial Court on Monday for a bail hearing.
