Police make arrests for thefts, causing a disturbance

The RNC arrested a 23-year-old man Sunday morning after officers responded to a report of property damage in the Merymeeting Road area of St. John’s.

Officers responded to the call about 8:15 a.m.

Charges against the accused include property damage, theft and three breaches of court orders. He was held in custody for a court appearance.

At 8:45 a.m. Sunday, RNC patrol officers were called to a disturbance in the Mundy Pond Road area of St. John’s.

A 62-year-old man was arrested for causing a disturbance.

Officers also found that there was an outstanding warrant for the man’s arrest.

He was held in custody for court.

At 9:45 p.m. Sunday, RNC officers arrested a 19-year-old man after responding to a report of theft on Merchant Drive in Mount Pearl.

The man was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.

He was released to appear in court at a later date.
