UPDATE: Serious motor vehicle accident in western Newfoundland

Traffic has been reduced to one lane on the Trans Canada Highway near Pynn's Brook following a motor vehicle collision Tuesday evening.

Deer Lake RCMP report that drivers should expect traffic to be slow in the area as a result of the accident. Tractor trailers and heavy trucks are being stopped by police.

Emergency personnel are said to be at the scene.

Deer Lake RCMP are at the scene of a serious motor vehicle accident on the Trans Canada Highway near Pynn’s Brook.

Emergency personnel are on the scene, and further updates are expected. The motor vehicle collision is said to have occurred near a tree farm. Debris is reportedly covering the highway, and motorists are being advised to drive with caution.
