UPDATE: Missing hunter located

Bay of Islands Search and Rescue team members and a helicopter arranged through Fire and Emergency Services Newfoundland and Labrador located a hunter this morning who was missing in the Pinchgut Lake area in western Newfoundland.

According to the Corner Brook RCMP, the man was located around 9:15 a.m. and was flown to the Trans-Canada HIghway where his family was waiting for him.

Medical treatment was not required.  

The RCMP said in a news release the family are very thankful for the efforts of everyone involved in the search and especially to the Bay of Islands Search and Rescue Team.

A Bay of Islands Volunteer Search and Rescue team and a helicopter are involved in a search in western Newfoundland for a missing hunter.

According to the Corner Brook RCMP, the hunter has been reported missing in the Pinchgut Lake area.

Contact has been made with the hunter by cell phone. Police said in a news release moments ago, a helicopter is now enroute.
