The Telegram website offers only a sample of the stories our reporters, editors and photographers work hard to get to the public every day.

Friday’s full edition of The Telegram, on the other hand, contains much, much more, from news to opinion to our expanded Arts & Entertainment section.

• A free trade deal between Canada and the European Union — presently under negotiation — could spell trouble for Newfoundland and Labrador’s minimum processing requirements in the fishery. While the EU doesn’t like processing requirements, in this province they are “fundamental communities and fundamental to our plantworkers,” according to Fisheries Minister Derrick Dalley

• Premier Kathy Dunderdale says the final cost estimate numbers for the Muskrat Falls project will be released within the next week or so. The process has reached the stage of “crossing the Ts and dotting the Is,” she said.

• The Crown began its case against Steven Neville in Supreme Court Thursday, outlining how an  ongoing feud over a $65 debt escalated from threatening Facebook posts, violent text messages to a master plan by Neville to kill two men.
