A 25-year-old man was arrested early this morning after a pickup reportedly hit two parked cars on LeMarchant Road in St. John’s and fled the area.

The RNC says the pickup lost a wheel during the collisions on LeMarchant Road but made it as far as Queen’s Road before the driver abandoned the vehicle.

The RNC’s K9 unit was called in and the driver was located.

The accused is charged with hit and run, impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle while his blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit.

He was later released from custody to appear in provincial court at a later date.

This guy gets released but the guy who refuses to pay his taxi fare and the drunken woman at a coffee shop are held overnight? Makes sense!!!

Why the hell was this guy released to appear later? To be so impaired to have the bad judgement to drive away with a wheel missing shows the total disregard for others he has. Yeah, Yeah. I know allegedly impaired!
