Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers in the Corner Brook region are investigating several complaints relating to vehicle thefts and incidents where items were found to be stolen from inside them.
A 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck was reportedly stolen from a home on Shamrock Crescent overnight Saturday. The truck is reportedly blue with a Newfoundland and Labrador licence plate number CEP 377. Police report doors were unlocked and keys were left inside the vehicle when the alleged theft occurred.
There were two vehicle break-in incidents reported to Corner Brook police where items were found to be missing.
A vehicle in the Greenwood Inn and Suites parking pot was reportedly entered sometime between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Saturday. Missing from the vehicle were two pairs of sunglasses, an MP3 player, and a wallet containing personal information, credit cards and government-issued identification cards.
Another vehicle break-in reportedly took place that same day between the hours of 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. while it was parked at a home on St. Claire’s Avenue. Reported missing from the vehicle were a Garmin GPS unit, an iPod charger and $60 in Co-Op money.
In both cases, police said the doors to the vehicles were unlocked when the alleged break-ins took place.
Two 16-year-old males were also arrested over the weekend in relation to an alleged vehicle theft from a home on West Valley Road. Read a separate story here.
