A 37-year-old St. John’s man has been charged with robbery with violence and other offences following an incident on Warberry Street in St. John’s this morning during which a woman was injured.
The 36-year-old woman was treated in hospital for injuries and later released.
About 8:50 a.m. today, RNC officers responded a report of theft of a motor vehicle in the area of Warberry Street.
With the assistance of a member of the public the stolen vehicle and the accused were located shortly after 9 a.m. in the area of Water Street Pharmacy.
The accused has been charged with robbery with violence, theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000, obstruction, breach of a court order and had two warrants outstanding for his arrest.
The accused was arrested without incident and held to appear in court in this afternoon.
