The Telegram website offers only a sample of the stories our reporters, editors and photographers work hard to get to the public every day.
Thursday’s full edition of The Telegram, on the other hand, contains much, much more, from news to opinion to our expanded Community section.
• Hot air and high costs — Natural Resources Minister Jerome Kennedy shot down suggestions wind energy could meet the province’s electricity needs Wednesday, releasing a report which he says shows going with wind would cost $3.5 billion more than the Muskrat Falls option.
• Eastern Health CEO Vickie Kaminski says procedure was followed the night Riley Fowlow escaped from the ambulance transporting him to hospital in St. John’s. Tragically, Fowlow was struck and killed by a truck later that same night. “This was a terrible, tragic outcome, but it wasn’t related to staff who ignored or didn’t follow appropriate care and procedures,” Kaminski said.
• When Steven Neville said he was going to kill two men, he didn’t mean it. “People say things all the time in anger,” his best friend Martha Bennett testified at Neville’s first-degree murder trial Wednesday.
