At about 12:50 a.m. today, RNC officers conducted a traffic safety stop on Columbus Drive in St. John's and charged a 21-year-old man with driving while suspended, not having insurance and owing $7,000 in outstanding traffic fines.

It was also determined the same man was stopped by RNC officers on Oct. 3 for the same traffic infractions.

He was held in custody for a court appearance today.

The vehicle was seized by police.

In a separate incident 1 p.m. Wednesday, RNC officers conducted a traffic safety stop in the area of Prince Phillip Drive and, as a result, a 36-year-old man was arrested for operating a unregistered vehicle and operating a vehicle while suspended from driving.

He was also found to have $3,000, in outstanding traffic fines.

The accused was detained at the lockup until court appearance and the vehicle was seized by police.
