The RNC is requesting the public’s help to identify the person responsible for an attempted robbery at Shoppers Drug Mart on Freshwater Road in St. John’s Oct. 27.

About 3:27 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, the RNC says the suspect entered the store, went to the pharmacist and handed in a note demanding drugs.

The male suspect was wearing a baggy black hoodie with pin stripes up the sleeves and green gloves at the time of the incident. The male then fled the area on foot empty handed.

RNC patrol officers, the K9 unit, forensic identification section and the criminal investigation division responded to the incident.

The RNC General Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking the assistance of the general public in identifying the individual in the video.

Anyone that has information that would assist in identifying this person responsible or anyone that may have any information in relation to this crime is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.

    My God, in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday! My family was going to that Shoppers since it was a grocery store! My grandparents would be horrified to know this was happening in the middle of the day there! I hope the person is caught! Imagine if anyone had of gotten hurt!?
