- Just Saying

Count your blessings that this sad event has prevented an additional 108 families from adding additional stress and strain to an already overwhelmed region that is not equipped to deal with the population it has let alone adding more. Till the Lab West Region improves infrastructure, the population CAN NOT be permitted to increase. People go hungry as it is due to contractors staying in camps and being provided meals stripping the grocery stores bare. This is the best thing to have happened to Lab West in years. Two dentists that it takes months to get an appointment to see when you have an emergency. Health care providers quitting and leaving people to suffer. Yes this could be seen as a very good thing indeed.

I don't know how anyone can be so crass as this. First off, no one is going hungry in Lab West. The shelves are not as bare as you're claiming and if they are you should expand your pallet and you'll find plenty of other options available. If anyone is low on food it's because of their economic situation, and the town's food bank has ample supplies for anyone in need. So that's completely ridiculous. You're just another Lab West resident crying how things aren't the same as the old days, and it's a tired song you're singing. To suggest that a building burning down is a "good thing indeed" is the most uneducated thought I've had the misfortune of reading yet. Just Saying, maybe you should stop saying anything at all, I think the smoke has gone to your head.

Firefighters in Labrador City are attempting to prevent a fire that has destroyed an apartment building. How can you possibly attempt to prevent a fire that has already destroyed a building? Terrible loss for Labrador City, the housing shortage is already critical

MIKE O', If you read the article correctly you will see it reads "Firefighters in Labrador City are attempting to prevent a fire that has destroyed an apartment building under construction from spreading to a neighbouring hospital." Read before you comment please.

WTG Baxter ! I hear the Iron Ore Company of Canada was having the building built - why didn't they pick a Nfld. contractor ? Apprently there wa no fire watch on the building !!!
- November 04, 2012 - 14:13
It's actually partially lab-West's loss also, for the numerous families and people who were going to live there, Don't you think that it was the people of Labrador that accepted the quebec contractors offer for the building ?? Also ... it's greedy and not greddy.
