Impaired driving charges laid in two Labrador towns

A 28-year-old man from Sheshatshiu is facing impaired driving charges as a result of a traffic stop Saturday.

According to the RCMP, a van was stopped around 3:20 p.m. Saturday and the driver arrested for impaired and having a blood alcohol level double the legal limit.

He will appear in provincial court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Dec.17.

 In a separate incident on Nov. 4, the RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay gave a 29-year-old man a seven-day driving suspension for driving while under the influence of alcohol, following a traffic stop around 7 p.m.

He was also charged with driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act.
