The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested a man early this morning in relation to a reported domestic dispute in St. John’s.
According to police, the complaint was received around 4 a.m. from the Guy Street area.
One man was arrested, charged with assault and detained until a court appearance. The RNC said injuries to the victim were not reported to be serious.
In a 24-hour-period from early Monday morning to early Tuesday morning, the RNC received 172 calls for service in the St. John’s-metro region.
On Monday, around 7:42 a.m., the RNC responded to a three-vehicle collision on Torbay Road, near Garland’s Garage.
According to police, two south-bound vehicles stopped for a north-bound school bus. A third south-bound vehicle rear-ended the second vehicle and pushed it into the first vehicle that stopped.
Police say the collision resulted in minor injury and minor damage.
Around 2:50 p.m. Monday, RNC charged a 25-year-old man with theft from a business on Merchant Drive in Mount Pearl. He was released to appear in court.
At 3:47 p.m., police received a report of a traffic collision on Prince Philip Drive at Wicklow Street. Both vehicles were headed west when one vehicle was rear-ended by the other. The RNC said there was minor damage and minor injury.
Also, around 11 p.m. Monday, RNC patrol officers conducted a traffic safety stop in the Foxtrap, C.B.S. area. As a result, one male adult driver was arrested and detained for court. He faces a charge of driving while prohibited. The vehicle he was operating was impounded.
