A 43-year-old St. John’s resident was arrested by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Wednesday after a traffic stop on Blackmarsh Road.

According to police, there were multiple warrants for the man’s arrest dating back to 1987, 1988 and 1990.

The RNC said the warrants stem from charges of fraud and break, entry and theft.

The man was also charged with failing to appear in court under the Criminal Code. He was held in custody until a court appearance today.

So, when these warrants were issued, who or where were they issued to? How is it that someone can go so long with outstanding warrants?
