RCMP investigating theft of trailers

RCMP in Lewisporte are investigating the theft of three auto transport trailers and one 12'-foot van tandem trailer from a private lot in the Lewisporte area.

According to police, on Wednesday, U-Haul International representatives discovered that the four units, which were stored on a private lot used to hold excess equipment on Pond Road in Lewisporte, were stolen sometime over the summer.

The total value of the loss is estimated to be about $20,000

The RCMP is asking anyone having any knowledge of this incident or having seen anyone or anything suspicious in the area during this time to contact the Lewisporte RCMP at 1-709-535-8637 or CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
