The RNC is advising the public that the Bank of Canada has issued a new $20 bill and that it is now in circulation.

The new $20 polymer bank note, which now begins to make its way into banks, stores and wallets across the country, features the Canadian National Vimy Memorial.

The security features of these notes are the same as the $100 bill and the $50 bill issued earlier. Polymer bank notes are secure, durable, cost effective, and better for the environment.

The older style paper notes will continue to be in circulation.

The RNC would like to advise the public to remain vigilant about checking security features of paper notes, which will continue to circulate for a time.

To find out more information on the new $20 and its security features you can visit the bank of Canada website at http://www.bankofcanada.ca/media-room/ and http://www.bankofcanada.ca/banknotes/materials-download-order/media/

How is anything that is made of a polymer (i.e. an unnatural, oil-based product) better for the environment than something that is made of paper? Does anyone really think about what they are saying in these regurgitations of baffle gab handouts?
