Three authors with connections to Newfoundland and Labrador are among the nominees for an international literary award.

The International IMPAC DUBLIN Literary Award carries with it a prize of €100,000, making it the most valuable literary award in the world for works of fiction published in English. Nominees for the award were announced on Monday.

Among the 154 books nominated are works by Wayne Johnston, Edward Riche, and Patrick Warner.

Johnston, a St. John’s-born author who now lives in Toronto, was nominated for his book “A World Elsewhere,” which was also longlisted for the Giller Prize in 2011.

Riche, who is from St. John’s, was nominated for his book “Easy to Like.”

Irish-born author Warner was nominated for his book “Double Talk.” He lives in St. John’s.

Over 100 public libraries participated in the nomination process for the award. The 2013 shortlist is due to be announced next April.
