RCMP charge two drivers with impaired driving

The Deer Lake RCMP has arrested and charged two impaired drivers in the past two days.

About 3:30 a.m. this morning, Deer Lake RCMP noted a vehicle driving erratically in the community and the vehicle was pulled over.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving and blew readings nearly twice the legal limit. Charges were laid.

He was held and later released to attend court in January.

About 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, a 49-year-old Corner Brook man was arrested after police received a call from a motorist who saw a vehicle driving erratically on the Trans-Canada Highway near Steady Brook.

The accused blew readings on the breathalyser nearly three times the legal limit. He was held in cells and later released. His court appearance is set for January.
