A woman has been taken to hospital following a single vehicle crash on the Outer Ring Road.
Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Her vehicle hit the median and spun into oncoming traffic, sending debris all over the roadway.
Police and firefighting crews were on scene as of mid-afternoon on Saturday.
Anyone who drives a highway everyday or when it is raining they have to adjust their driving to the conditions of the roads.The ORR is used with so much high traffic volume there has to be road conditions.I drive that road very often you cannot travel at 100km at the best of times.There are so many trucks carrying garbage that are not covered this garbage is all over the road so you are constantly trying to dodge a piece of wood here,a carpet rug there ,there should be a government law to make sure these trucks has the garbage they are hauling to be covered,And you are right Lady not everyone are texting or talking,I,m glad she will be ok.But the ORR is a road that you cannot drive thespeed limit on,maybe its time that the speed limit was lowered.If you have to leave your home earlier to get somewhere on time so be it.We all have to do it.
It has been wet and raining for days, the ruts in the road on the Outer Ring are deep, and water filled, no doubt they were a factor.
Wow you people are all so quick to assume the girl was txting or some shit like that. What actually happened was she hydroplaned TWICE and managed to control the car the best she could. She is lucky to be alive and they need to fix the damn ruts in the road!

Chaulk another one up to outer ring road,everyday last week at least I vehicle crumpled up and not even a drip of snow nor ice yet.Lucky no fatalities...YET!!!
i have driven the outer ring road on many occassions. i don't see any problem with the design of the road so why so many accidents?
Time to put concrete barriers all along the centre median on the ORR, like other provinces does, to prevent cars from crossing over into oncoming traffic! A head on collision is non-survivable! The govn't has lots of money for everything else here, time to use some of that gas tax to keep the driving public safe.
When are people going to come to terms that the Outer Ring Rd is not their personal race way and that others do drive it as well,slow down before you kill someone.Most of these accidents are because of speed not dips in the road from studded tires that someone had mentioned last week.Slow down people..
Good grief, another crash on outer ring road. It seems like every time I look at the paper theres another accident. Makes you wonder if the driver was paying more attention to the cell phone or being distracted rather than watching the road. We watched a lady the other morning putting on her makeup while she was driving. She was weaving all over the road. That could have easily been an accident where she could have killed someone.
