The RNC is continuing to investigate complaints involving multiple thefts from motor vehicles in the Conception Bay South area.

At approximately 3 a.m. Wednesday, the RNC received a complaint from the area of Wisemans Lane reporting that there was a suspicious male checking vehicles in that area.

Following a brief investigation and search of the area, officers located and arrested a 25-year-old man and charged him with possession of property obtained by crime, theft under $5,000, resisting arrest and breach of court orders.

The accused was held overnight for court and released to attend court again at a later date.

The RNC is continuing to investigate these thefts and encourages vehicle owners in the immediate area to contact police if they have had their vehicle gone through.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or any similar incidents in the area is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can   provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.

The RNC would like to remind the public not to leave valuables in their vehicles, and if you must, to keep them out of view. Motorist should also keep their vehicles locked at all times to help prevent this type of crime from happening.
