Tens of thousands of people lined the streets of downtown St. John's on Sunday for the annual Santa Claus parade.

The jolly old elf himself showed up in his usual style; first scouting the parade route in a chopper before mounting his float and waving for the kids along his route.

The weather also seemed to have Santa in mind, as the rain held off and temperatures remained mild.
