The fire was first reported Saturday evening. Police and the Corner Brook Fire Department responded to a complaint of smoke coming from behind Stepping Stones Day Care on O’Connell Drive.

Damage resulting from the fire was limited to the shed, according to police. According to a news release issued Sunday, the incident is being treated as an arson and break-and-enter investigation.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the RNC at 637-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can be provided anonymously through the Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
