Woman charged after bar fight

A 23-year-old Happy Valley-Goose Bay woman has been charged with assault causing bodily harm after another woman was struck in the head during an altercation at Maxwell’s Sports Bar in the Labrador community.

RCMP officers were called to the bar about 4:22 a.m. Sunday.

The 24-year-old victim was transported to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The accused was released from custody to be back in court Jan. 16 to answer to the charge.
