The west-bound lane of the Outer Ring Road is closed between the Thorburn Road and Paradise exits until further notice as police investigate a pedestrian motor vehicle crash.
It happened at about 8 p.m. near the Paradise exit ramp.
A 16-year-old male appears to have been the victim. He sustained severe injuries and has been taken to hospital.
The road was clear and dry at the time of the crash.
The RNC is still on scene conducting an investigation.
